How to change desktop wallpaper on mac os snow leopard?
First Way

Right-click on the image you want to use as the Mac's wallpaper.Scroll down to the bottom of the menu and click Set Desktop Picture.

Go to Apple menu and click System Preferences

Click the Desktop & Screen Saver icon and select Desktop

If you want a solid color click Solid Colors, If you want to make wallpaper from your pictures from your computer Drag & drop a picture into the little preview window and it will set automatically to that image.

If your wallpaper don't fit to your screen resolution, click the pop-up menu then choose one of the "Tile the background", "Fill the screen", "Stretch the background to fit the Desktop" or "Center the image on the Desktop".
